ANGELINE

Scenic Artist | Props Painter | Concept Design | Artist

Angeline has been making art for 27 years both commercially and privately. She graduated from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) Dublin with a BA in Fine Art / Sculpture.

Relocating from Europe to Australia to work in the film industry as a scenic artist and set finisher, Angeline worked on films such as The Matrix and Star Wars, this allowed her to explore her fascination with large scale art projects. This influenced her decision to work with Opera Australia as head of the Scenic Art department for 13 years. Angeline worked collaboratively with renowned Australian and international designers on productions such as La Boheme, Tosca, Carmen and La Traviata.

Durning this time Angeline also taught scenic art and props painting at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA).

Angeline has recently decided to set up her own creative studio to explore the possibilities of creating large scale art works and painted decorative finishes for commercial and private interior spaces as well as stage and screen.

Most recently Angeline has been working on Furiosa Mad Max, designed by Colin Gibson, art directed by Sophie Nash, Nick Dare and Jacinta Leong.

While acrylic water based paints can be the most practicable solution for large scale interior work, Angeline loves to experiment with different mediums including inks, chalks, cement render, raw pigments, dyes and oil paints.

With a combination of roles including Head of Scenic Art, Scenic Art Foreman and Scenic Artist, Angeline's experience on film’s include such titles as:

The Matrix (1990)
Star Wars: Episodes II and III (2002/2005)
Shang Chi (2020)
Pieces of Her (2021)
Poker Face (2021)
The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart (2021)
The Fall Guy (Coming to cinemas in 2024)
