Sculpture | Scenic Artist
Jake is a Sydney-based Sculpture and Scenic Artist. He graduated from The National Art School in Darlinghurst, where he majored in sculpture. He has participated in a number of group shows spanning across several different art galleries throughout the Sydney area.
Working predominantly from his Lennox Street Studio in Newtown, his bespoke, one-off pieces are commissioned for both public and private clients.
Jake describes his work as ‘Botanical Surrealism’.
“Dreams of nature or nature’s dream itself, my sculptures are the physical remains of that dream. Idol’s and relics of an unknown past or unseen future. Botanical still, lives of unknown skulls, birds, flowers, seeds, eggs, and plants. Creating scenes of fragile beauty and new life rising from the dead.” – Jake Klarnet
