Bark Sculptures, Taronga Zoo

It was such an incredible honour to have painted these 3D bark sculptures for Taronga Zoo with Gorilla Constructions.

Nura Diya Australia, a new native wildlife experience located at Taronga Zoo on Cammeraigal country, is now home to these beautiful Angophora Bark sculptures.

The Angophora Bark sculptures were created by First Nations artist, Jacob Nash. The Sculptures honour the deep connection that trees have to Cammeraigal Country.

The name 'Nura Diya' means 'This Country’, words that have been gifted to Taronga through ongoing and respectful consultation with First Nations People, including Taronga’s Aboriginal Advisory Group, Cammeraigal, and First Nations staff.

Always was, always will be, Aboriginal Land.
